MERCURY JUST STARTED WHAT’S CALLED IT’S SHADOW Period on October 29th! NEARLY 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO ITS ACTUAL RETROGRADE CYCLE!
Mercury Retrograde:
November 16 to December 6, 2018, in Sagittarius and Scorpio.
This affects all of us, how does it affect you?
Mercury the planet of communication starts to slow down its speed once again, and prepares itself by coming to a screeching halt 2 to 3 times a year, and then proceeds to appear to move backward for a 3 week time, and this is called the RETROGRADE period!
But there’s a time frame before and after it’s actual RETROGRADE cycle called the SHADOW PERIOD, that starts 3 weeks prior to its Retrograde cycle and 2 weeks after, and during these cycles there can be more confusion as we adjust to MERCURY slowing down as it can cause sort of a ruckus, miscommunications, and electronic snafus.
With MERCURY’S slow down and stopping to go into its Retrograde cycle, we need to be patient with other folks and their confusion, frustration, mistakes, and so on, and don’t forget to do the same with yourself! Things like computers, smartphones, cars and all things electronic can be glitchy or have minor annoyances. It’s just best to wait it out because this problematic phase will pass and all these snafus and glitches usually will correct themselves. One key rule during the Shadow period is to not overdo things and make too big of a deal out of it if you can, (unlike me lol) because these issues are usually temporary!
With MERCURY RETROGRADE our thinking is thrown off, and so is our perception of things. So mistakes, misunderstandings, and problems involving communication are likely. It’s not a good time to sign contracts, make new agreements, buy anything brand new, or begin new projects. It’s an excellent time to research, revisit, plan, and prepare for something later. Remember Mercury likes to take us back literally to our past when it’s in Retrograde, so back to old friends and lovers, and even behaviors and lessons to learn something we didn’t the first go around.
Some Astrologers consider Mercury to be stronger when it is Retrograde because it is closest to the earth than at any other time during its orbit. So Mercury will be between the Earth and the Sun. The fact that Mercury is strong though, doesn’t mean life will go smoothly, hence Mercury Retrogrades bad reputation. An Astrologer once described Mercury Retrograde as Mercury going down into the Underworld and making us walk through that shadowy part of our mind and consciousness!
Since Mercury rules over our thoughts, minds, and how we process information this theory makes a whole lot of sense. We have to adjust to this period to understand it’s odd influence on our planet and our minds, it’s like putting on night vision goggles and discovering a whole new world that our minds have to explore and relearn how to understand. And each Retrograde comes with its own set of lessons for us to learn from, because each one is in a different Zodiac Sign, and that changes them up a bit.
We should try and understand that Mercury slows things down while in Retrograde, as our minds start processing information differently during the Shadow phase, we have to adjust to the way we see things and use our minds. This has a strong impact on how we communicate, and around anything that involves the way we communicate like technology of all kinds, and traveling as well. There can be more delays and misunderstandings during all of Mercury Retrogrades cycle honestly, as the energy out there can feel just stuck, off, or stagnant. Give yourself extra time when traveling and driving, be cautious and careful out there to avoid mistakes and accidents! There are also a lot of accidents during a Mercury Retrograde Shadow period simply because people feel discombobulated, and lose their focus, so take things slow.
Take care of your body and well-being, some folks get sick due to this transit because they are trying to pack too many things in their schedule and simply can’t keep up like usual and become overwhelmed and stressed out! Only take things day by day if at all possible.
One rule of thumb you can start to do now is to make sure everything you own that is electronical is up to par and has been serviced or backed up in some way, including your cars. If you have to travel during this time plan ahead and expect delays so you are not time crunched and avoid problems.
You’ll notice a lot of Astrologers will say “Don’t do this!” or “Don’t do that!” during this cycle, but it’s important to remember not to stop your life during this time. It’s not the best idea to sign anything of commitment during a Mercury in Retro phase, but that doesn’t mean if you feel really good about it, you shouldn’t take a good opportunity either. Follow your intuition and check in often with your higher-self, and see what answers you get.

November 2018 Horoscopes
Get ready folks things are going to get quite wild, exciting, and a bit confusing maybe as there are just so many major planetary shifts this month that we probably will be feeling much differently about certain things by the time we get to December. Expect more details from me over the course of the month, but in the meantime keep this newsletter to refer back to.
The Radical Change maker Uranus enters Aries, Again?
Starting Nov 6th the planet Uranus in Retrograde (backward) leaves the sign of Taurus and goes back into the sign of Aries, where it already was for nearly 8 years! So we have dealt with this energy before (2010-May 2018), but we’ll have to do it again starting now through March 5th of 2019! It’s no easy task living under the Uranus in Aries transit, it’s been one hell of a ride over the last 8 years with Uranus in Aries!! It’s really been a nice change of pace since May of 2018 when Uranus shifted into the sign of Taurus until November 5th!
But now with Uranus back in the sign of Aries, we have no choice but to take this energy head on one last time, as Uranus won’t be in the sign of Aries after next spring again for nearly eighty years! One good thing is before Uranus leaves the sign of Aries again, it will come out of its long Retrograde cycle on Jan. 7th 2019, so this can help take the edge off, as we all can feel this energy in a deep way!
For now, whole Uranus is back in the sign of Aries, we have to face our fears head on and change some things that just aren’t working for us, so we can live the life we really want to and be who we really want to be, if we like it or not! This energy affects us on a personal and global scale. What you didn’t maybe finish last spring, now you get a second chance to do so. Expect the unexpected and one wild winter and spring, especially for all the Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn folks. But either way no matter what your sign, life is certainly not settling down any time soon and either will we. Just make sure to think before you act which can be quite difficult under this influence, it’s going to take being mindful and strategic ahead of time to keep yourself calm.
New Moon
The New Moon comes together Wednesday, November 7, in the sign of Scorpio.
This energy is intensely focused and gives us deep insight into our problems. But this influence is under a fixed water sign of Scorpio, so what we tend to see is often just the tip of the iceberg. There’s always a whole lot more going on beneath the surface when it comes to Scorpio energy! Some of the themes during this month’s New Moon are subconscious motives, suppressed emotions, and other subtle energies. With this New Moon on the World’s Axis it’s a very karmic and revealing time! This is also right when the elections in the US will be going on, so something that happens during this time will directly affect everyone, as there are major changes coming!

Venus Moves out of its Retrograde Cycle!
Then on November 15th a whole lot of changes will be happening. First, off the love Goddess herself, Venus, the planet that rules our love lives and often finances will come out of Retrograde, and many of you will be able to make an important decision about your love life or a close relationship. Money issues will lighten up for some folks, especially if you were already having issues.
While Venus is Retrograde she is at her closest distance to Earth, and in fact, she’s closer than any other planet can actually be! So, a good way to think of her Retrograde is when the Earth and Venus do their dance and bring up all of her themes to the forefront of our lives, so things like relationships, love, and money! Venus is strongly on our minds and in our hearts right now, and she represents whatever involves love, money, relationships issues, jealousy, and boundaries in relationships. It’s a period of time when we should work on listening to our partners, and lovers. Sacrifice some things for your lover so they are happy!
Communication Breakdown
Mercury Retrograde
On Nov 16th, Mercury Retrograde begins its cycle in the sign of Sagittarius but is also in a tense Square to foggy Neptune for a few days which may add to the confusion. It might be more difficult than usual to ignore negative thoughts and feelings about other folks, which can make you feel quite upset, uneasy, or even ill. Your dreams might be super strong and extra vivid for a few days, but hard to understand or interrupt. Romantic adventures may be interesting during this time, but remember the difference between fantasy and reality to avoid feeling rejected and embarrassed later.
During the whole Mercury Retrograde cycle, so from Nov. 16th through Dec. 6th, be very careful about what you sign, so things like contracts or commitments of any kind. And don’t try to fit extra commitments into your schedule. This is supposed to be a time of rest and rejuvenation. And not a time to start anything brand-new for three weeks. Back up computers, and be cautious with driving and traveling. It might be difficult to stay on top of the details of your life, especially with all the technology snafus and miscommunication going on. . Take extra precautions to avoid getting sick and to keep your health well, live gently. This cycle runs throughout the Holiday Season so be mindful and do what is best for you, first!
It’s time for a turnabout, and if we are smart we will allow our minds to take a rest and go into some sort of peaceful state during these cycles, as we can then review where we have been. It’s time to get real with yourself and do some self-appraisal which is going to require for us to be extremely open-minded, and usually can only be done by those who are enlighted enough to really love themselves. It’s probably pretty obvious by now that something we have been doing in our love lives, relationships, work, or otherwise isn’t working for us, so it’s time to take new steps and follow our intuition, throw logic out the window during Mercury in Retrograde and listen to your intuition!
Endings & Letting Go
Full Moon on the 23rd
This month’s Full Moon is in the sign of Gemini, in the Pleiades Star Cluster. Since this Full Moon is in 0 degrees of Gemini, it carries a special significance, which emphasizes something fresh can start, and new lessons are handed out to be learned. This may seem like an odd time with the Full Moon coming to a stage of completion. And it also will ride right along with Uranus moving back into the sign of Aries, which means something from our past may come back up that still needs to be fixed or resolved. It’s a time to wipe the slate clean and start over again, and release what you don’t want or need so you can start something new.
Spirituality
Neptune turns Direct and out of Retrograde on Nov 24th
This means we finally will start to gain some clarity again and are better able to make certain decisions based on all that we have learned, thinking back to what has been revealed to us since June 18th when Neptune first went into its Retrograde cycle, as many secrets have come out to be dealt with!
The world has been quite an angry place lately if you haven’t already noticed, and as a result of this collective inner disharmony, we could see some serious anger and violence in the outer world for just a few days as Neptune comes out of its Retrograde phase! This means emotions can run high, which leads to sudden frustrations and bursts of anger. If you want to just simply be reasonable it’s going to take some mindful consideration before you move forward on anything. Actions are sudden and spontaneous so it might prove difficult to allow our minds to not be impulsive, it’s important to find some sort of safe way to express how we are feeling which could just solve the problem altogether.
Finally, we can feel like we are being knocked around by all this Cosmic Activity, but there is every reason to believe that for now on, we can enjoy our daily life a who lot more after we get through this time. As things will start to feel considerably lighter and less tense. Meanwhile, it just depends on where all the planets are lined up in your own personal Astrology Birth Chart, but either at home, with family, in your relationships, and even with our financial problems, things may start to finally be sorted out. Expect some exciting changes on the horizon, and whatever you do think positive to offset down of the challenges we will meet

The Sun shifts from practical, detailed Virgo into the sign of harmony and balance, Libra.
This is our Autumnal Equinox, and we will experience equal hours of daylight as darkness.
Today is something to talk about because not only is the Sun moved into Libra, but so has the “great messenger” Mercury. So our core self and minds are in sync, besides the constant need to for balance these aspects turn our focus towards our relationships and brings in the energy of cooperation and equality.
You will feel sharp and aware of issues of injustices or unfair treatment of others, which may be a direct result of you taking a stand for yourself or others, especially if it’s around those you love. It’s easier to see all sides to most situations, so remember you can’t make everyone happy, because decision making can prove to be difficult. You might start playing the role of peacemaker under this influence, so you can be quite diplomatic when it comes to dealing with problems or business dealings.
We desire peace and harmony and create that energy both aware and unconsciously. Be careful to not seek out the approval of others too much during this cycle, as it can be difficult to know who’s telling the truth sometimes, follow your gut instincts during Libra Season as our inner awareness and psychic-self is at its strongest. You have an extra boost of intuition now with mental Mercury now in in the sign of Libra, as well, for most of October, so it’s just natural to study other folks and their behaviors and body language, which can tell you an awful lot about a person, go ahead and try it, you will see exactly what I am talking about.
This transit can especially affect those with Libra Suns signs or Rising signs. Libra’s should feel a great big jolt of confidence and playfulness over these next four weeks, and the rest of you may be made more aware of how to balance what is required of you both emotionally and physically to achieve balance.
While under the Sun in Libra we will strive to keep some sort of balance and greater equilibrium for the next 28 days or so. Our relationships will also become of great interest and focus from September 22nd through October 23rd.
FYI we can struggle with how to handle our relationships with Venus the planet of love in the mysterious sign of Scorpio during this time, and with planet Venus going into its Retrograde cycle soon. Relationships are under a microscope and are about to get a big dose of reality through the end of November!
Mercury shifts into the sign of the scales, Libra, today, this aspect is from September 21 – October 9.
This will have us thinking about the patterns we follow in our relationships. but our relationships will be of the utmost importance.
Our thoughts tend to lighten up a bit when Mercury is in Libra. The positive vibes of this influence help us feel more friendly and diplomatic with others, so it’s a good time to think of ways to improve your negotiation skills. However, it is equally just as important to not be false out of fear of not keeping the peace. Under this energy, we do tend to shy away from any kind of conflict unless we are starting something. It can also be difficult when we must assert ourselves, we can be easily accommodating and take others opinions as fact, there can be a fear of looking like the bad guy and we don’t like others thinking of us negatively.
Our minds are more rational during this time so we can be fair. However, this energy can have you changing your mind quite a bit, because you can see both sides to any given situation or story now. It can be a challenge just to make a quick decision, because you may end up just sitting around pondering what you have seen or heard. However, this is a good time to take into consideration other folks points of view, as we more inclined to arrive at a fair and equal judgment or conclusions.
Even though under this Libra energy, the sign of diplomacy we prefer to create harmony without too much static, do not let that prevent you from dealing with the real issues and getting down and dirty about it if you have to. Libra energy can help us observe the world around us and study other people and their behaviors, so a good mystery can be extremely intriguing during this time.
So what does Mercury in Libra mean for you and your relationships? Oh, it means a lot! Libra is the sign of relationships, it rules over our one-on-one relationships and partnerships of all kinds. We can learn more of the truth around our relationships and what really is going on. If you’ve had any problems or tension with close friends, partners, or business partnerships this phase can help you get down to what is really causing any problems. Because you can finally figure out some of these issues, and possibly fix a broken or be done, so at least you won’t be stuck anymore. This is a great time to work on fixing the patterns of co-dependency as well because it can be toxic!
Even though Libra is the sign of diplomacy and prefers to create harmony without too much static, don’t let that prevent you from dealing with the real issues and don’t be afraid to get down and dirty about it if you have to.
There’s some good news I want to share with you! The Cosmos is about to shift once again and the lucky planet Jupiter is going to shift into its own sign of Sagittarius in just a few short months! Starting November 8, 2018, Jupiter will shift into the sign of Sagittarius and stay there for a little over a year.
Jupiter has been in the Sign of Scorpio since last November, which has been an eye-opening experience, but once Jupiter makes its shift into more upbeat Sagittarius things will be different, as Jupiter works at its best in Sagittarius, due to it being its ruling planet. This transit of Jupiter can bring abundance, and its effects will be bigger and sometimes better than we have experienced in nearly 12 years! Jupiter is the planet of expansion and it expands everything it touches, it brings good luck, gifts, and often blessings when it’s in a harmonious manner.
Now for the downside of Jupiter moving forward into Sagittarius, this planet expands all that it touches. So all you Scorpio Sun or Rising sign folks might have put some weight on over the last 12 months without even trying as Jupiter has been in your Sign!
But if you are a Sagittarius, you are seriously going to want to watch your diet for the next year or so, as it can be all too easy to pack on the pounds without even trying. You may not even eat differently or change your exercise routines and still put some extra weight on, so forewarned is forearmed. However, most agree the benefits of Jupiter the great benefic planet being in your sign will far outweigh the pitfalls during this time.
This can be quite a Lucky year ahead for all of us, no matter what your sign maybe, Jupiter will touch our lives, in a most prosperous expansive way. This is going to be an amazing way to end the year since it has been so rough for so many of you! This can help improve your finances and many other parts of your life.

A Look Ahead!
This week has been easy for some and challenging for others. Stay in your own lane folks! Don’t get sucked into the drama that other folks might try to drag you into. It’s best to understand just why you feel tense.
The Tensions Continue!
There’s a rather testy Mars/Uranus T-Square building up energy now that peaks on September 18th, and in Astrology and life, in general, it is the build-up of energies that cause the most problems. You might be noticing this energy is at play now, and it can cause unexpected events, like accidents, anger and outbursts, and other tensions you didn’t even think about. Whatever issues you might have been dealing with about 4 months ago is now coming to completion and you might have some real challenges in your life, sit back and watch, and breathe, be the observer, not the reactor!
This weekend you might have to work harder to achieve balance. If you are generally an easy going person you might have a difficult time playing it cool, and you might end up feeling like telling someone to “stick it where the Sun doesn’t shine! Ha! It’s a time to get space, it actually can be more important with all these tense energies at play, you may not want anyone in your little private bubble, so stay away from others if need be.
If you are having some sort of relationship issues or money problems, no worries. It’s probably due to Venus now in her “Shadow” Phase of Retrograde, (basically the few weeks prior to her actual Retrograde cycle that begins Oct 5.) Venus rules over our love life, relationships, and money, and while she is doing the backstroke in Retrograde issues around these parts of our lives might start to show up to be dealt with. The Venus Retrograde period is sort of her shadow self, and therefore, you might experience the darker side of Venus and those issues during the Retrograde period, so we may have to discover some secrets to get through but in the end it’s all about the healing folks!
The other issue, however, is Venus has been part of the ongoing T-Square energy that is still building up to peak on the 18th, and that isn’t helping matters much. This tense energy will calm back down a few days after it peaks on the 18th, but it is going to come together again and peak strongly on Halloween, Oct 31 & Nov 30! This strong influence brings out tensions in our relationships and around our finances. Venus goes toe to toe with Uranus the planet of change and liberation, so you can only imagine how this is energy is affecting our love lives and money situations, as it plays in the background of our lives all the way through the end of November. This aspect can cause unexpected changes in relationships, finances, and with your material possessions. So hopefully as this energy peaks new information helps you to see the bigger picture.

This Weekend
This weekend communicative Mercury makes a nice Trine connection to powerful Pluto and then sweetly hooks up to lucky Jupiter! This is a rather lovely time and great for powerful thinking and manifesting folks!
So do something to Set some Intentions over the weekend, maybe write a letter to the Universe about what you wish for or dream of the most! And leave it under your pillow through Sunday night so you can sort of absorb this amazing energy, and see what happens. Some folks will be pleasantly surprised.

The Universe has some serious messages to pass around! On September 20th, the Sun makes what’s called a conjunction to mentally powerful Mercury!
This connection is about Ah-Ha moments and Epiphanies, so you would be wise to pay attention and watch for signs and symbols from the Universe about what you are supposed to be doing with your life starting this weekend! September 9 – October 1st
Venus enters Scorpio today and this will be a time of intensity, passion, and commitment in our relationships and around our financial affairs. This is conveniently perfect timing with the spooky Fall season right around the corner as the mistress herself moves into sultry Venus, and any skeletons in your romantic closets can fall right out, so we can be more secretive about both money and love. This influence can bring intimate encounters with someone sexy, magnetic, and maybe even irresistible. This can tie the bonds between lovers and friends on a soul level, and also is a time of healing and transformation in our relationships! But often to get to the point of healing you have to pull out the not so fun emotional stuff first and do some serious analyzing.
Venus in soulful, seductive Scorpio has the power to draw out what we love and what is superficial in our love lives and concerning our financial affairs, so secrets are often exposed. If you are cheating on a lover or partner, may I suggest you figure out what you want during this time, as this energy is going to draw out the truth around things like jealousy, secrets, abuse, and misguided behavior! Under the energy of the Scorpion we like to get to the bottom and below the surface of situations so we can examine issues of power, fear, sex, and desire more so than usual. Astrologers seem to consider Scorpio a tough sign for beautiful and sweet Venus, as Scorpio is not as concerned with superficiality and prefers chasing after love that will transform. So just like the Scorpion Queen herself, you may feel more like getting below the surface to examine things deeply in your relationships during this time.
Venus rules over our relationships and is more sociable, friendly, and affectionate. Scorpio is about passion and likes to go deeply into love. Step One: Clear your Sacred Space
Clear the energy of the area or room you’re using to do Full Moon work in. You are simply calling in some positive energy to work with. Burn some Sage or Incense and clear the energies. Next, close your eyes and breathe deeply …and call your Guides, Angels, or higher-power in and ask to have your sacred space cleared of any negative energy, and then to fill it up with the energy of love and light. (Never leave energy empty, always fill it with something once you’ve cleared it.)
Step Two: Set the Atmosphere
Set the mood for your “Full Moon” Ritual and again burn some special incense, light some candles (colors do have different meanings) and play some music that helps you feel spiritually connected. This can be very different for everyone. Just makes sure to use whatever tools or colors that make you feel calm, happy, and peaceful.
Step Three: Setting Intentions with the Full Moon energy
You’re going to need a notebook, paper, or a journal and something to write with. Think about where you’re going to perform your energy work at. Because we create an energy vortex wherever we sit or sleep or do spiritual work! This is why you feel so comfortable in your favorite chair, not only because it feels safe and secure, but also because you have created an energy vortex in that spot or space.
Next, you will write what energy you’d like the Universe to bring in and remove both. Simply write your deepest truths, wishes, and questions down. Think about what energy you’re trying to let go of and release. Write your letter like as if you were talking to an old friend. Think about what energy you’re trying to push out of your life, and what energy you’re trying to bring in, and be detailed but don’t go overboard. Don’t forget to leave room for the energies to shift, change and mold what you’re creating. Sometimes these things take time, but you also may want to learn how to hear the messages or receive signs from the Universe, usually it’s a very subtle energy. But over time usually, your questions will be answered.
As you’re doing this work and setting your intentions, here are some helpful questions you can think about … for example; Ask for what you are choosing to come into your life and what changes you would like to see happen? Now you’re going to visualize what you have written. First get comfortable again, preferably in the same place and read what you wrote. Close your eyes and take long deep breaths, in your nose and out your mouth. See the energy of your heart center, that’s in the middle of your chest (not your pumping heart) but your spiritual heart or commonly referred to as the “Heart Chakra.” Visualize yourself in what you’re trying to create or manifest. Don’t just think about it, now make sure and “FEEL IT,” as if you were really experiencing what you’re visualizing. So if it makes you laugh, cry, scream or whatever, then go with it.

Which looks like you filling that space up with gratitude for what you do have and around the work you are doing. When we focus on what it is we don’t have we are focusing on “Lack”, and that will only bring in the things you don’t have. Remember what we put our attention on is what will show up! So instead think and feel the things you are grateful for in your heart, Ask yourself what makes you happy that is in your life right now! That way you are attracted more of that kind of “feeling” which will bring in more of the good feeling kind of energy, and that can make you way happier than getting all wrapped up in what isn’t in your life or being held captive by your pains and traumas.
