While the Sun’s in Taurus, we may feel more sensual, receptive, stubborn, and determined. This shift causes the energies to slow down, but it can help us to act
practical, grounded, and steady, which can be quite helpful, especially with the upcoming Pluto Retrograde cycle starting to form, which is a time we are often made to face our fears. Isolation might actually feel more comfortable for many of you over the next month or so.
We all have the sign of Taurus in our Astrology “Birth” Charts which affects us directly, and not only is the Sun in Taurus for the next month, but so are Mercury, Venus, and Uranus. This infusion of Taurus energy into our lives via the “Stellium” in Taurus forming now is about integrating tradition with evolution. A “Stellium” of planets in Taurus occurs throughout April and part of May. A Stellium is when there are more than three planets in the same sign, and the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Uranus are all in the sign of Taurus currently.
With this overabundance of Taurus energy, we can take some time to relax and simply catch our breath. It’s an opportunity to take a deeper look at the events unfolding in our lives so we can handle complicated situations with some good old-fashioned common sense. These energies encourage us to learn how to defend ourselves, resist temptation and love deeper. Love is sensual and more intimate during this cycle. We can learn to appreciate the physical world and all its beauty.
The Zodiac Sign of Taurus is ruled by the Goddess of Love herself, Venus. For better or worse, love is the most powerful energy there is, after all. So we can be fiercely passionate and emotional during this cycle.
One thing about Taurus energy is we feel a stronger need to be more comfortable than usual. Take some time to set up some space to Zen out, get all comfy and cozy for the next month, and grab a blankie and some fuzzy slippers because this is a lot of extra Taurus energy we will be under. Make sure you have somewhere safe to hang out.
This cycle shows us stability and substance. We’re drawn to more practical matters now, so there’s not a whole lot of risk-taking going on.
Under the Sun in Taurus, there’s an opportunity to explore what we truly value and who we can depend on. During the Pandemic, we’ve had some time to do some research. Now we can focus on what matters in our material world while working with our spirituality and beliefs. This lovely energy is supportive and can help us balance our spirit, mind, and body. We can experience what it’s like to manifest our physical reality as the seeds of intention we plant take root. It’s a time of harvest and to reap the rewards that are coming to us. Our determination is strong, but we still need to know we are safe and secure during this time.
Taurus energy is about loyalty, being comfortable, and using what’s worked in the past, as we like sticking to what’s familiar. We value the folks who have stayed by our side in good and bad times and honor their friendship and loyalty!
As the Sun moves through the sign of the bull, we have an opportunity to see the beauty in life. We’re more focused on the simple pleasures in life and how to feed our senses, which are aroused and highly activated, so we can have a newfound appreciation for things like food, sex, music and entertainment, beauty, and anything pleasurable! Being more repetitive and open to the things that make us feel fulfilled and alive can help us appreciate life and the world better. It’s a time to pause and stop long enough to “smell the roses” rather than be in a hurry and pass things by. Being isolated doesn’t feel as difficult under this energy, so if you are still being cautious and staying in due to Covid, it actually could be more welcoming.
The shadow side of all this Taurus energy forming is we can be more possessive and controlling, especially with our children and partners. We can be extremely stubborn and bullheaded, so it’s important to be willing to hear other people’s ideas and opinions. Check yourself and be mindful of these issues.
While the Sun is in Taurus, we should be making plans and setting goals, ones that are built to last for the long term. Put away something for a rainy day and the future. It’s not a good time to make life-altering decisions. Just plan for now if you can, as mental Mercury will start to slow down in May, yep, you guessed it, and go into its Retrograde cycle!! But will chat about that later!
