These are interesting times from an Astrological Standpoint and December of 2018 is no exception, mind you things should get a little easier or at least our day to day activities will start to calm down a bit, as the shifts occurring are going to help pull us from the strangeness of Retrograde madness that we have been in for so long. 

The first week of December we are already dealing with the Goddess herself Venus moving into the sign of Scorpio. This means all you sexy Scorpio’s will be even more sexy than usual! Ha! Venus in this sign makes for an extra attractive next several weeks for all the Signs, but if you are a Scorpio Sun or Rising Sign you should talk advantage of it. 

Also this month, our minds can be a bit obsessed with issues that are both fascinating and disturbing, when mental Mercury in Retrograde (backwards) moves back into the sign of Scorpio on Dec 1st, this brings back old theories, ideas, and suspicions about what truth lies beneath the surface. MERCURY MOVES OUT OF RETROGRADE!!!!! 

Mercury stations direct on December 6th and leaves its Retrograde cycle. At this point, Uranus in fiery Aries will be the ONLY PLANET left in RETROGRADE until early January 2018, Woohoo! This will be a welcome break from all those planets in Retrograde starting last summer through late fall! 2018 has been a strong time for introspection and insight into ourselves, it was also a time of confusion. But we will be able to have more clarity around the way we both think and feel, and this helps us move forward and meet our goals for the upcoming year. 

Have you been having intense Dreams lately? Lots of folks have been having intense or vivid dreams lately, some about old lovers, family members, or friends that they haven’t seen for a while. Some of these dreams are more soul visitations, where we meet up with friends or lovers and just simply hang out and play catch up! With Mars and Neptune slowly coming together, it can bring in quite potent and vivid dreams or visitations from those who have crossed over. It’s a good idea to write them down because they can have special meaning later. 

CHALLENGES

There is a bit of challenging energy coming together from Dec 3-5 when the Sun makes a tense Square to fiery Mars and Neptune! Sneaky more unethical folks can be sneaking around trying to get anything they can from you. Pay attention and watch for those folks who claim to be something they are not or who are not what they appear to be. The more Narcissistic, underhanded people will be sniffing around more so than usual. This influence also brings a sort of sneaky energy out of the people you already know or are associated with in some way, or even those folks you do business with! So again pay attention and don’t let someone take advantage of you.

NEW MOON

There’s a New Moon coming together in the sign of quick-thinking Sagittarius, around midnight on Dec 6th here in the United States, or in the wee hours of the morning on the 7th depending on what time zone you live in. This is the most opportune time to Set Intentions for new beginnings and to do some sort of manifesting ritual. Basically, you’re just working with the Cosmic energies of the Moon in one way or another! 

This particular New Moon is heavily influenced by another connection or what’s called a conjunction between Mars and Neptune both in Pisces. This helps us focus more so on our spirituality as we can feel like doing something that helps us connect into the Universal energies, usually, this is a time when we have a lot of faith and our beliefs are stronger more so than usual with it being Sagittarius Season and all, but we tend to forget the truth about why we celebrate these Holidays in the first place, even though our faith in certain higher purposes or powers is stronger. In all actuality no matter what you believe in or faith you follow, this is a time that marks a new season and the Winter Solstice, but these influences just might help us discover the true meaning around why we celebrate the Holidays around the globe, and it’s much more than just buying each other gifts!

But a warning comes along with this energy, as folks tend to also overindulge and eat and drink too much. Do Not Drink And Drive during this time. Be cautious around folks who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This is a great weekend for Psychic Readings and Spiritual Classes, or for doing anything that helps with spiritual development, it’s just not so good for vices. 

There’s a long-term tense Square connection between reckless Uranus and the master of escape Neptune, it’s brought back to life for the last time on December 15th. This aspect has been setting the bar pretty high around raising our consciousness or awareness since mid-2017 and will run strong through mid-2019. But this has been a long time coming as this energy started actually a long time ago back in 1993, when these two planets aligned in Capricorn. 

The Solstice, Holidays, and New Years Astrological Preview

The Winter Solstice is on Friday, December 21st when the Sun Enters Capricorn and it officially becomes “Capricorn Season,” but at the exact same time loving Venus and dreamy Neptune are in perfect harmony. And mental Mercury is conjunct Jupiter, this is all some pretty amazing energy, to be honest folks. These planetary combinations bring in an extra dose of love, happiness, and good fortune for all of us to share. 

Then the Full Moon occurs on Saturday the 22nd, in its home sign of more sensitive Cancer. During the Christmas Holiday time, the Cosmos lines up and brings in the energy of fun as we feel more like being social, so throwing some sort of Holiday shindig in your own home can go quite well, since the Moon will be in the sign that loves its shell or home the most, Cancer. Traveling can be much easier the week before the Christmas Holiday, than the actual week of Christmas, as there are going to be delays and other unforseen obstacles for traveling during that time. 
This Full Moon period has a slightly restrained quality, with the masculine facets of the Sun and Saturn in Capricorn opposing the Cancer Moon’s feminine, intuitive energy.

On Christmas Day, the Moon will be in more generous Leo and even the rest of that week seems to be pretty calm, at least from an Astrological viewpoint!  

New Year’s Eve things change quite quickly when aggressive Mars moves into its home sign of fiery Aries, watch out folks if you don’t know how to handle this all or nothing kind of energy, then you can have some issues. Mars sparks the energy up to have a rocking New Year’s Eve but there will also be arguments, debates, and wild events with this more aggressive energy influencing us so strongly!

“NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE”
August 21st, 2017

The New Moon in Leo comes together Monday, August 21st, 2017 which is also a rare Solar Eclipse! The most anticipated and debated astrological event of the Summer is finally upon us.

New Moon Times:
Central: 1:30pm
Eastern: 2.30pm
Mountain: 12:30pm
Pacific: 11:30pm
A NEW MOON represents a New Cycle that the cosmos brings into help us create new beginnings. This also happens to be the day of the “Great American Solar Eclipse”, so let’s just get the facts straight:

– NEW MOONS ARE ALSO CALLED “DARK MOONS,” because they give off the lowest light during a calendar month.

– NEW MOONS are when the SUN is Conjunct the MOON. A new moon is a moment when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction, meaning that the Sun and Earth are on the opposite sides of the Moon.

– This NEW MOON is in the sign of Leo astrological this time around.

– On Monday, Aug. 21st the sky will go dark for a short period of time due to the SOLAR ECLIPSE!

– A SOLAR ECLIPSE, as viewed from Earth, occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, fully or partially from the Sun.

– A SOLAR ECLIPSE typically only happens with a NEW MOON, when the Sun and the Moon are in conjunction.

– In partial and annular Eclipses, only part of the Sun is obscured; during a total eclipse, the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon, the Eclipse on August 21, 2017, is a Total one.

 

This New Moon cycle is the second of two New Moon’s both in Leo in a month. This Solar Eclipse marks the grand finale to this tumultuous “Eclipse Season” and a blazing new beginning on a personal and collective level. Leo is the most dramatic or more like theatrical and radiant sign of the Zodiac signs.

July’s New Moon in Leo was connected strongly to fiery Mars also in Leo, and that fiery energy was the booster to set this energy into motion.

However, the August New Moon’s energy feels more solid, stubborn, resolute, and uncompromising so there won’t be any hesitation, doubt, or resistance allowed at this time!

This New Moon brings with it a mysterious dark shadow that is cast on Earth, due to the “Total Solar Eclipse” also occurring, and this can be a positive influence that helps brings out our intuitive nature, therefore dreams and visions have been quite strong. But it asks us to embrace our weaknesses, and tap into our inner confidence and strength.

The Eclipse is also making a connection to the fixed star “Regulus” the “Heart of the Lion”, so how perfectly fitting for a New Moon in “Leo”. This Star is known as the “little king” and is often associated with royalty and authority, and is believed to be, “the stars, star!”, because of how strongly it affects folks who are in the public eye lives, like movie stars and entertainers.

Regulus adds some serious juice to this rare. cosmic event. Its energy demands nothing less than loyalty and integrity from us, and intense devotion and passion, that only can match this stars warmth, generosity, and brilliance.

*After all, the point of an Eclipse is it helps us accelerate our growth, and it pushes us past our comfort zones, hence why so many of you are feeling anxiety-ridden one minute and completely exhausted the next! This process does move along easier if we move with the energy and give up any resistance to it!*


Astrologically speaking, it doesn’t matter where the shadow of this Eclipse touches our corner of the world, this is a strong energetic gateway that we all are about to walk through, and it creates evolutionary changes within all of us!During this New Moon in Leo, our focus should be on building up our self-confidence by discovering our own paths as individuals. So ask yourself what you want in your life for you, not for your kids or a partner, but just for yourself. This energy also asks us to learn what our special gifts and talents are, and what creative skills we possess. This energy is also about us making a conscious effort to work with others in a more personal way, where we are involved and loving, so working straight from our hearts.

We might enjoy recommitting to an existing romance, hobby, or project that we felt passionate about before. It’s also a good for adding some “play” or leisure time to our lives. Under this potent Leo energy, we have a fighting chance to make amazing changes in our lives and to move forward and progress. The Eclipse is showing us what isn’t working in our lives right now, so we can redo or start something all over again. Something is ending so a new beginning can start!

A beautiful connection is underway between Venus and Neptune, and we can be much more receptive to such things as beauty, the arts and our imagination! We are just simply tuned in with our hearts to our spirit! Doesn’t that sound magical, well it can be. Harmony, kindness and compassion rule the day with this energy, so it’s important to be gentle with others and harness this energy. The simple pleasures of life can be felt very strongly now.

Relationships can flow much easier because the tension has been removed for now, and we tend to see the best in folks. Romance is highly favored!

There’s just one problem and that is mental Mercury is squaring sensitive Chiron…. as well over these next few days. This energy can have us feeling more reserved and held back when it comes to expressing how we feel. So this can take away some of that beautiful energy from the Venus/Neptune influence and sort of interupt the good vibes it is trying to bring in. It may make it more difficult to trust or believe what other folks are trying to say, or communicate to us, because we don’t quite get how they’re really feeling when they do talk to us.

If you’re having a hard time thinking logically right now, and you feel somewhat foggy or fuzzy… just know the planet Neptune is going through a huge shift right now. Are you feeling super sensitive to the energies around you? Well read more below to learn probably why and what you can do to maybe feel better.

As if there’s not enough planets already going Retrograde currently, there are now 4 once again! Retrograde planets appear to go backwards in the sky, but really they’re not! But let’s not get into all of that right now. What matters is how Retrograde planets do affect us, if you’ve haven’t already noticed over the last few months.

But this blog is about Neptune, the planet that rules over our spirituality, dreams and illusions. Neptune has slowed down to go into its Retrograde “station.” This happens once a year for about 5 months! So we’ve been through this before, year after year. This is not a huge, big rare event in and of itself! But it does shift the energies from the external world to our internal one.

So we can understand what this planet has to teach on a very intimate, personal level. Planets are stronger when they are Retrograde, especially the time before and after the cycle, which is called “station”. This is when the planet appears to be standing still. So it is the time to pay attention to what this planet is trying to teach us and what we should be developing. And can we feel it! It almost reminds me a of when Mercury Goes Retrograde in some ways. So it may take a few weeks for us to get adjusted to Neptune’s new energy!

During Neptune’s station period we can be much more sensitive and our feelings are stronger than usual. (Attention all Empaths or Sensitive folks, please make sure to take extra care of yourself and your ENERGY during this cycle, SHIELDS UP!) We’re expecially Psychic now, and our intuition is turned up a notch and we seem to be plugged into everything, make sure to take extra time to unplug from others and their energy. Because we can feel things both inside and out now. If we can manage to cut through the fog there are some positive effects of Neptune in Retrograde that you may be interested in knowing. We can be more in touch with our compassionate nature. We also tend to see and feel more, hear and sense more during Neptune in Retrograde. Beauty, music, and experiences are just more profund in this energy.

This is definitely the time to get Spiritual, tune in to your highest-self or into the grandest version of yourself, get in touch with your Soul Purpose, or whatever you call your own inner Divinity! This means we should be literally starting on getting connected to some kind of spiritual practice in our lives daily, this can include getting in touch with others, like doing some sort of service work, or we can connect to nature in some way. Or it can be as simple as working on a more meaningful connection to your spirit and soul, think about also connecting through music and the arts, get in touch with your inner muse.

Whatever your spirit or soul is calling you to connect to or pay attention to during Neptune in Retrograde, just follow what you’re drawn to spiritually speaking. Because if we choose to ignore our hunches, intuitive hits, or visions than we can feel out of touch, disconnected or comfortably numb.

Again for all my naturally intuitive or Psychic folks, you can feel particularly sensitive during this time. It’s important to realize that the folks who are more “vulnerable” will feel the
Neptuian psychic energy can feel overwhelming and draining. Especially ad Neptune starts a tense square with stern Saturn for the rest of the Summer. With that being said it is ill advised to overload yourself even more. Try to avoid negative, depressed energy, stay away from what’s disturbing or posioinous, ignore energy vampires” who are draining if it all possible. Avoid substance abuse or substance all together, such as alcohol and drugs, this can cause you to feel even more vulnerable and makes you more susceptible to negative influences and situations. The important thing to remember during this cycle, is to nurture your Psychic or spiritual self during this time of the year, do not drain, poison or mask your spirit. This is exactly why it’s important to be aware of your boundaries and don’t allow them to get crossed.

The square to Saturn I mentioned already can actually be a good thing, because it makes us more aware of our boundaries and just how important it is to enforce them for our own well-being. But it can also aggravate some of the more negative characteristics of Neptune, things like paranoia, fear, anxiety, disenchantment, disillusion and even despair can be felt more. Loss can be felt more so now than normal, are ideals and dreams. Ah be challenges at this time.

But for now let’s focus on what Neptune Retrograde periods are good for: paying attention to your dreams is important, keep a dream diary, spiritual practices and retreats, yoga and any mind/body work, going to places where like minded people practice spirituality, meditation, visit art museums or any museum, finding practical ways to use compassion, take art classes, music, poetry classes, enjoy movies, photography or the theater, getting in touch with your higher self and honoring it, swimming, boating, or anything to do with or surrounding water, or just being in nature. All of these things are ruled by Neptune and should be explored in one way or another.
