“NEW MOON/SOLAR ECLIPSE”
August 21st, 2017

The New Moon in Leo comes together Monday, August 21st, 2017 which is also a rare Solar Eclipse! The most anticipated and debated astrological event of the Summer is finally upon us.

New Moon Times:
Central: 1:30pm
Eastern: 2.30pm
Mountain: 12:30pm
Pacific: 11:30pm
A NEW MOON represents a New Cycle that the cosmos brings into help us create new beginnings. This also happens to be the day of the “Great American Solar Eclipse”, so let’s just get the facts straight:

– NEW MOONS ARE ALSO CALLED “DARK MOONS,” because they give off the lowest light during a calendar month.

– NEW MOONS are when the SUN is Conjunct the MOON. A new moon is a moment when the Sun and Moon are in conjunction, meaning that the Sun and Earth are on the opposite sides of the Moon.

– This NEW MOON is in the sign of Leo astrological this time around.

– On Monday, Aug. 21st the sky will go dark for a short period of time due to the SOLAR ECLIPSE!

– A SOLAR ECLIPSE, as viewed from Earth, occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, fully or partially from the Sun.

– A SOLAR ECLIPSE typically only happens with a NEW MOON, when the Sun and the Moon are in conjunction.

– In partial and annular Eclipses, only part of the Sun is obscured; during a total eclipse, the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon, the Eclipse on August 21, 2017, is a Total one.

 

This New Moon cycle is the second of two New Moon’s both in Leo in a month. This Solar Eclipse marks the grand finale to this tumultuous “Eclipse Season” and a blazing new beginning on a personal and collective level. Leo is the most dramatic or more like theatrical and radiant sign of the Zodiac signs.

July’s New Moon in Leo was connected strongly to fiery Mars also in Leo, and that fiery energy was the booster to set this energy into motion.

However, the August New Moon’s energy feels more solid, stubborn, resolute, and uncompromising so there won’t be any hesitation, doubt, or resistance allowed at this time!

This New Moon brings with it a mysterious dark shadow that is cast on Earth, due to the “Total Solar Eclipse” also occurring, and this can be a positive influence that helps brings out our intuitive nature, therefore dreams and visions have been quite strong. But it asks us to embrace our weaknesses, and tap into our inner confidence and strength.

The Eclipse is also making a connection to the fixed star “Regulus” the “Heart of the Lion”, so how perfectly fitting for a New Moon in “Leo”. This Star is known as the “little king” and is often associated with royalty and authority, and is believed to be, “the stars, star!”, because of how strongly it affects folks who are in the public eye lives, like movie stars and entertainers.

Regulus adds some serious juice to this rare. cosmic event. Its energy demands nothing less than loyalty and integrity from us, and intense devotion and passion, that only can match this stars warmth, generosity, and brilliance.

*After all, the point of an Eclipse is it helps us accelerate our growth, and it pushes us past our comfort zones, hence why so many of you are feeling anxiety-ridden one minute and completely exhausted the next! This process does move along easier if we move with the energy and give up any resistance to it!*


Astrologically speaking, it doesn’t matter where the shadow of this Eclipse touches our corner of the world, this is a strong energetic gateway that we all are about to walk through, and it creates evolutionary changes within all of us!During this New Moon in Leo, our focus should be on building up our self-confidence by discovering our own paths as individuals. So ask yourself what you want in your life for you, not for your kids or a partner, but just for yourself. During the New Moon cycle, we should be asking the Universe for new beginnings, by planting some seeds of intention and getting in touch with our higher-self. It’s a good time to think about what you’re grateful and what you have and to work on manifesting what you’d like next to show up in your life next.

Setting Intentions under the New Moon

This is an opportune time to ask the Universe for New Beginnings. The intentions that are set during a New Moon Ritual will set you on the right path towards your desires. Have a conversation with the Universe (meaning your higher power, God, Source, Guides, Angels, etc.) and ask for the New Moon to open up a path towards your deepest desires, and ask to be led to your manifestations. Plant seeds of intentions with your mind and heart. In the simplest of terms, write your wishes down and most importantly feel them.

You might be asking how does one Set Intentions under the New Moon?

First, you should set the mood and create the energy. So light some candles, burn some incense or sage, and play some calming meditative music. Get comfortable and simply write down your deepest desires, wishes or questions about your future and what you want next. Write down what you would like to manifest or create, and what kind of energy you are trying to bring into your life?

Just don’t think about it, make sure and “FEEL IT” as if you were really experiencing what you’re visualizing.

The New Moon phase is the best time for planning and seeding your intentions. You’re going to need to be patient and wait for those seeds you have planted to grow, just like you would wait on a flower to sprout from a seedling and remember when a plant grows it needs sunlight. This is also true for us as we get our ideas together and make our visions known, it takes some time for our wishes or desires to surface into reality. The dark of the Moon or New Moon, is like the earth when you plant a flower it is dark, but once you ask for your dreams to come in…you are putting your Light on it and that is what it takes for it to grow, just like the Sun makes a flower grow, add some emotions to it and really feel what you are asking for and there is the water a flower would need to grow, see it’s all so symbolic for what we really are doing here.

There’s a New Moon occurring Sunday morning, which makes this the best time to set some powerful intentions around your future goals with the Universe and work a little Magic!

“A New Moon occurs Sunday morning so starting Saturday evening through Tuesday early morning is the Best Time to Set Intentions or Make Out Wish Lists!”

*The New Moon comes exact on July 23rd, 2017, at 5:46 AM EST or 4:46 AM CST, this New Moon is when the Sun and the Moon meet both in the Sign of  LEO and are in conjunct”
*We have all the way through Tuesday early morning around 5:23 AM EST and 4:23 AM CST to SET INTENTIONS!*

During a New Moon cycle, we should be asking the Universe for new beginnings, by planting seeds of intention from our heart and getting in touch with our higher-self. It’s a good time to be grateful for what we have and work on manifesting what energy we want to come in next. What I mean by that is we can create whatever it is we desire, such as a better life, more money, happiness, love…it doesn’t really matter, but we have to do some things to make it really happen. And no not everything you want is going to just magically appear. But at least by “Setting Intentions” with the energy of the New Moon, you’ve made it clear to the Universe what path you’d like to begin heading down and that’s a start. Then the energies will begin to line up to get you there.

The intentions that are set during a New Moon will set you on the right path towards your desires. The New Moon is a magical time of beginnings when you can recharge goals or set new ones. During the New Moon, we often experience an “energy shift.”

Here are some ideas on what to Manifest under a New Moon:

1. Get clear about something you want and write it down.

2. Share your intention with someone in a supportive way, and who will be encouraging.

3. Do something today to demonstrate your commitment to your intention.

4. Acknowledge that you did what you said you would, and then take the next step.

So have a conversation with the Universe (meaning your higher power, God, Source, Guides, Angels, etc), and ask the New Moons energy to help illuminate the path that leads you towards your deepest desires. Simply ask to be led to what you’re choosing to manifest. Remember to be patient and simply allow the time needed, things don’t always happen right away, but we can get taken down certain paths to find our way to what it is we’re looking for… and sometimes magic just happens.

What if you don’t know how to “Set Intentions” under the New Moon?

Follow the Steps below to learn how:

Step One: Clear your sacred space

Clear the energy of the area or room you’re using to do New Moon work in. You’ll simply be calling in some positive energy to work with. Burn some sage or Incense and clear the energies. close your eyes and breathe deeply … and call upon your guides, Angels, or higher power in and ask to have your sacred space cleared, and then to fill it up with the energy of love and light. Never leave energy empty, always fill it with something once you’ve cleared it.

Step Two: Set the atmosphere

Set the mood for your “New Moon” Ritual and again burn some special incense, light some candles (and colors of candles do have different energies and meanings), play some music that helps you feel spirituality connected. This can be very different for everyone. Just makes sure to use whatever colors or tools that make you feel calm, centered, happy, and peaceful.

Step Three: Setting Intentions

You’re going to need a notebook, paper, or a journal and something to write with. Think about where you’re going to do all this work at because we create an energy vortex wherever we sit or sleep. This is mainly why you feel so good in your favorite chair because it’s comfortable and feels safe and secure, but also because you have created an energy vortex in that spot.

Now write what energy you’d like the Universe to bring in. Simply write your deepest desires, wishes, and questions. Think about what energy you’re trying to manifest or create. Write a letter, like as if you are talking to an old friend. Think about what energy you’re trying to bring into your life and be detailed.

As you’re doing this work and setting your intentions, here are some helpful questions you can think about … for example; ask what you’re choosing or what changes you would like to see in your life? What are you or should you be calling in? How do you feel about what is happening in your life now, and what do you want to create? Think about your long-term goals and future and what you’d like that to look like over the next month. Be careful about focusing on the how, why, and when of your goals, focus more on what it is you’re wanting and how you want to feel. Let the Universe take care of the rest.

Step Four: Visualize

It’s time to visualize what you’ve written. Close your eyes and take long deep breaths, so in your nose and out your mouth. See the energy of your heart center, that’s in the middle of your chest (not your pumping heart) but your spiritual heart or commonly referred to as the “Heart Chakra.” Visualize yourself in what you’re trying to create or manifest. For example; see yourself living in that new home, falling in love with that Soul-Mate, driving that new car. Just don’t think it, make sure and FEEL IT as if you were really experiencing what you’re visualizing.

Allow the Universe to show you which paths to follow over the next 30 days, and then allow the New Moon to light up those paths that you are supposed to be going down, so you may bring in what you truly desire, and let go of what you don’t want, it’s not serving your higher good and it’s blocking you from your desires.

Astro Mid-Week Update

There’s some lucky days ahead of us, on July 6th, 8th, and 9th. If you need to initiate something or do something important, these three dates are good to get things off the ground. With the New Moon behind us now, we can start to move forward as the light of the Moon slowly increases daily until the Full Moon in Capricorn on July 19th.

With shocking Uranus squaring the Full Moon, prepare for the unexpected. You might suddenly realize that you have to put some sort of boundaries up, when folks try to violate your personal space. Some people can become extremely pushy as they try to push their agendas, beliefs, and opinions off on you, this can really frazzle your nerves. 

Besides that heavy energy, on the 7th, Venus and Mercury are moving into Leo next week, followed by the Sun on July 22nd. With so many planets in Leo and fire signs, you can expect the energy out there to become very sociable. If you really want to enjoy yourself, there’s some seriously fun energy ahead to enjoy! This energy is much more upbeat and you may feel like. indulging yourself. The Cosmos wants you to play! Come on!! What do you have to lose! And yes you deserve it! 


This Wednesday, the Sun Conjuncts Mercury in Cancer. This is such a positive time to express your feelings. If you’ve been looking for the right time to tell someone how you feel about them or that you are attracted to them, this is the day to do it! It’s just a lovely energy to ask someone to marry you in! 


However, Thursday doesn’t have the same energy, it’s not as favorable with mental Mercury opposing Pluto and Venus and then Squaring Uranus. There may be confrontations and arguments, and power plays are likely. 


On Friday, we can smooth over any rough edges with folks when Mercury and Jupiter connect. This is a good day for communication, short trips and writing….so by the 9th you can quite nicely work on finishing any projects you need to get done. This energy can help us feel more accomplished, which is a nice way to mark you to-do lists done and get on with your weekend.

“Empathy”

Once the Moon shifts into social Leo this afternoon, you may feel more like getting out and roaming around again! It’s been a pretty decent 4th of July weekend astrologically speaking, and even though we should be focused on getting back to work…it might prove difficult, because with the Moon in Leo stirs up our inner child, and it begs us to get out and play again! We’re looking for a little bit of drama and flair, as we begin to go after what makes us feel passionate. Doing things in life that are pleasurable and that are around other people can make us feel happy now. 

Mercury (our thoughts) connects beautifully to Neptune (our spirituality) today, this will seriously enhance your intuition and imagination. Get involved in activities that are artistic, creative and imaginative. Any decisions that are made today will be used with these senses more so, so it’s a good day to learn how to follow your gut and intuition if you’ve been wanting to practice more. 

 

If you haven’t learned or researched what it means to be what’s commonly called an “Empath” or a sensitive, the energies today can help you understand those that do! Or you may just be extremely Psychic, and sense the thoughts and feelings of others. If you are already empathic by nature might I suggest you “shield” yourself a little extra today, because the walls are very thin between here and other relams, especially with Spiritual Neptune involved… you may feel other folks and their emotions. But this is a more positive influence, so hopefully if you do pickup on anything it’s the good stuff. This influence particularly favors photography, the arts, poetry, fiction, spirituality, advertising, and promotion.
