A Different Kind Of New Moon!

The New Moon takes place in the Sign of Scorpio ironically enough this October, but these energies will be felt strongly starting Saturday the 26th through the 28th. The actual New Moon comes together on Sunday the 27th in the evening here in the US.

This New Moon energy is meeting up with some other planets making it very different and challenging energy to deal with. There can be situations that provoke anger, and lies or deceptions. Lovers and relationships, in general, can have issues with high ideals that have been set and explosive attitudes around those expectations. The Uranus opposition to the New Moon is not compatible with its energy and therefore, it contradicts the awesome New Moon energy! So it may not feel like an ordinary New Moon, which is usually much more peaceful hopeful for most.

Since the Sun and Moon are both in the sign of Scorpio during this New Moon, our desires run deep and our will is stronger than usual. Our lives are under a microscope that involve our very existence, so we can become obsessed with thoughts about life and death. Scorpio is the sign of Regeneration after all. Any issues that suddenly come up now can be viewed as a matter of “life or death”, which is extreme, but so are our thoughts and emotions, which can be fiercely intense at this time.

With the New Moon in Scorpio stirring up such intense emotions, all that has been hidden, buried, repressed, taboo, or kept secret is ready to be discovered. This energy is supercharged with intense psychological energy, so it can affect our psyche in a powerful way that can help transform us! But this is not usually a fun process. Being aware is, however, half the battle and can help you understand what you need to move forward. Don’t be in denial or lie to yourself, or you won’t get the lessons involved from this New Moon energy and can struggle and suffer.

When the New Moon is in the sign of Scorpio our emotional depth mixes with our equally strong willpower to survive and succeed, at whatever we put our time and energy into. This makes for a stronger source of psychological energy to draw from. The only issue is we can catch others off guard by expressing ourselves rather suddenly and unexpectedly in a strong manner, this can cause tensions with other people, and then they may not trust us enough to deal with the real problems at hand.

This New Moon has such a different vibe with the planet Uranus almost precisely in an opposition to it! So it can feel like a Full Moon, as anxiety levels run high. The emotional Scorpio intensity is strong and needs some sort of transformation, this can make us feel excited and restless as we have a strong need for independence that can fill us full of nervous energy. Something needs to shift or change in our world in order to calm back down, but we may not even know where to start.

All of the Signs of the Zodiac will be affected by this energy, but it can be especially strong for the “Fixed Signs” of the Zodiac which are as follows; Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, especially those born in the First decan of each sign, so the first week of each of these signs. And the “Cardinal Signs” as well so, Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn especially those born in the Second decan of their sign, which is the second week of each of those signs.

The New Moon’s Effects

During this New Moon there can be unexpected events that challenge what we have come to trust and understand to be true. Tensions can grow high and there can be rash and strong reactions from others. This influence tends to bring up issues around our emotional security and love life. Some folks will notice the feelings they’ve been stuffing deep down suddenly coming out in a very exaggerated manner. We can suddenly feel a strong urge to express our emotions out loud about our relationships, and this energy can trigger us and we may start to obsess about why we are with our partners or lovers in the first place. This creates a fog over our situations and makes it that much more confusing, especially with Mercury just about to go Retrograde also in the sign of the Scorpio. There might be a case of mistaken expectations of our partners, and what we thought they could or would do. We must sit back and observe for now, and perhaps take some sort of mental notes, but it would be silly to take any actions at this time, until the New Moon energy has passed and we are more clear and less judgmental about what we are doing and seeing!

This energy is extremely sexual, and therefore many of you will feel a strong desire to express your sexuality, but that may become frustrating or a waste of time and energy in some way. Just remember to keep your cool as this energy can cause tension, anger, and crisis, which can lead to separations and even breakups in any kind of relationship.

It’s important to have patience and remain polite to keep the peace. Try to think before reacting, and work on being more compromising. This is the best way to avoid these tense energy from kicking up! Perhaps the battles are not over for now, but do you really want to wage War under these energies? Unless you feel done with the relationship, then go for it, otherwise take a step back and a deep breathe and learn more so about how to compromise. That is what it takes to maintain a healthy relationship, and perhaps that is what this energy is trying to teach us, to be patient with our partners.

It may almost seem kind of scary to “Set Intentions” with this particular New Moon, due to the unstable energy it’s bringing to us, being hooked into a strong opposition with the planet Uranus. However, Scorpio energy is some strong magic folks, it is an alchemist at its very core. This is the time to go deep and ask for some kind of blessing or miracle. Being saturated by so much Scorpio energy we have the power to transform any situation in our lives. Uranus is the spark that helps creates miracles, it’s lightning speed and energy can change anything fast! Astrologers enjoy precision and this New Moon will hit us right where it counts, so it can be very powerful energy to work with! Take advantage of this powerful energy and wield it in the direction towards what you most strongly desire. This won’t be a waste of time I assure you as Scorpio is the sign that started and defined what Desire truly is in the first place.
