Setting Intentions with the Full Moon!



The Full Moon energy is building now and will occur Friday the 13th late at night, or very early Saturday morning depending on what part of the world you live in. So starting anytime today you can work on “Setting Intentions” with the Full Moon energy. This is a time to work on releasing from your heart what you no longer need, or what isn’t working for you! Work with the Cosmos and write a letter or meditate, and tell the Universe what it is you want to see happen in your life next. Let go of what needs to be done, be it a situation, person, or change in behavior. What do you want to release? What would you like to create or manifest? It can be about anything. You might be pleasantly surprised with the outcome, as this Full Moon illuminates the truth around the same time as some other cosmic connections are opening up doors for us to release old Karmic Debt. This is your chance to wipe the slate clean! And you get to rewrite the next chapters of your life! Think about your hopes, dreams, and desires, and feel it as if you already have obtained your goals.

This is an opportune time to ask the Universe to release whatever you need to let go, or do away with, and what doesn’t serve you. The intentions that are set during a â€śFull Moon” will set you on the right path towards your hopes, wishes, and desires. This is the best time to do some energy work and releasing old pains and experiences that might have held you down or blocked you up! It’s time to get the old stuff out so the new energies can come in! 


During the Full Moon, we often experience an energy shift, so we must release the old energies to open up doorways so to speak, so the new energies can be allowed into our lives.


What to Release under a Full Moon:

  • Lower energies
  • Negative patterns or bad habits
  • Unhealthy situations or relationships

What to work on during the Full Moon:

  • Letting go of both the people and situations that aren’t working anymore. And sometimes it is just an attitude or thought
  • Clearing space for new energies to come in
  • Being GRATEFUL for what you already have and what will be

Have a conversation with the Universe, (your higher power, Spirit Guides, Angels, God, etc) whatever you call it! Ask for the â€śFull Moon” to help illuminate the path that leads you towards your deepest desires. Simply ask to be put on a path towards your dreams and goals.

Patience is important! Remember to allow the time needed for the Moon to light the way, as it doesn’t always happen right away. But sometimes magic happens and it does. The â€śFull Moon” illuminates the truth and is symbolic for seeing what’s been hidden, secret, tucked away, or suppressed. So ask for the truth to be revealed during this time. You just might be pleasantly surprised by what you learn.


Setting Intentions Guide

What if you don’t know how to â€śSet Intentions” under the Full Moon. Follow the steps below to learn how:

Step One: Clear your Sacred Space
Clear the energy of the area or room you’re using to do your Full Moon work. You are simply calling in some positive energy to work with. Burn some Sage or Incense and clear the energies. Think about where you’re going to perform your energy work. Because we create an energy vortex wherever we sit, sleep or do spiritual work! This is why you feel so comfy in your favorite chair because it feels safe and secure. But also because you have created an energy vortex in that spot or space.


Step Two: Set the Atmosphere
Set the mood or your Full Moon Ritual. Burn some special incense, light some candles (colors do have different meanings,) and play some mood or ambient music that helps you feel spiritually connected. This can be very different for everyone. Just makes sure to use whatever tools or colors that make you feel calm, happy, and peaceful.


Step Three: Let It Out
You’re going to need a notebook, paper, or a journal and something to write with. Writing pen to paper can be magical! It helps sync up the mind and body! Then you write what you’d like the Universe to bring in and remove both. Simply write your deepest truths, wishes, and questions down. Think about what energy you’re trying to let go of and release. Write the letter like as if you were talking to an old friend. Think about what energy you’re trying to push out of your life, and what energy you’re trying to bring in, and be detailed but don’t go overboard. 

And just know sometimes things take time. Often we just miss the signs and messages the Universe is sending because they are so subtle. They are not always some sort of earth-shattering sign that shows up like a lightning bolt! More often it’s simply a bird landing in your backyard, or hearing a song on the radio that seems to have special meaning just for you. If you pay attention and see everything as a sign, you will start to quickly pick up on what the Universe is trying to tell you! 

As you’re doing this work and setting your intentions, here are some helpful questions you can think about, for example; Ask for what you are choosing to come into your life? What changes would you like to see happen? What are you or should you be letting go of? How do you feel about what is happening in your life now? What do you want to release? Think about your long-term goals and your future, and what energy you’d like to create over the coming months.


Step Four: Visualize what you’re Creating
Now you’re going to visualize what you have written. First get comfortable again, preferably in the same place and read what you wrote very closely. Then close your eyes and take some long deep breaths, in your nose and out your mouth. See the energy of your heart center, (that’s in the middle of your chest, not your actual pumping heart) but your spiritual heart or commonly referred to as the â€śHeart Chakra.”

Next, Visualize yourself in what you’re trying to create or manifest. For example; see yourself living in that new home, falling in love with a Soul-Mate, driving that new car, (just smell that new car smell!) Don’t just think about what you want, but make sure and â€śFEEL IT,” as if you are really experiencing what you’re visualizing. If this makes you laugh, cry, scream, or whatever, then go with it.


Step Five: Gratitude
It’s very important to work on releasing what you don’t want in your life during a Full Moon, but it’s equally as important to not leave a VOID after you are done. So you need to fill that space from releasing with gratitude. Being grateful for what you have and around the work you are doing. When we focus on what it is we don’t have we are focusing on “Lack”, and that will only bring in the things we don’t want. Remember what we put our attention on is what will show up! So instead think and feel the things you are grateful for in your heart. Think about what you already have and be grateful for that. Then you will attract more of that kind of energy, which in turn brings in some better feeling stuff! Don’t be held captive by your pains and past trauma, call in the good stuff folks. Yes, you deserve something good, wonderful and amazing! 


Allow the Universe to show you what path to follow over the next month, and let the Full Moons light show you the way! Hopefully, at the very least you will be put on a path towards what you truly desire, all while letting go of what you don’t need in your life anymore. It truly is a miraculous process once you learn how to work with the Moon’s energies.
