So how will it affect you? And how can you use this time to your advantage?

Mercury the planet of communication, perception, and travel goes into its first Retrograde of 2019, occurring in the sign of healing Pisces from March 5 – 28, and at 29 degrees, which is the anaretic degree or point of crisis (which tends to be harsher at this point.) This Mercury in Retrograde cycle seems to resurrect old situations or problems that we thought we were done and over with, only for us to have to deal with all over again. This is a time when we need a lot of rest, and to really focus on being kind to one another. Some folks might be quite mean or cruel, but don’t allow yourself to go there, instead focus on being kind and compassionate. This is a time to make sure and set some healthy boundaries, as we are more susceptible and vulnerable to manipulation and deception, especially during the last part of Mercury in Retrograde at the end of March when Mercury is conjunct Neptune, Pisces ruling planet. This can cause our thoughts to be foggy and can make things even more confusing, and it being Retrograde time it can even stronger than usual.

It’s important to remember that just because Mercury is in Retrograde we shouldn’t stop our lives! This cycle gives us a chance to reflect on our past and search our own belief system in a more deep spiritual way. For this next three weeks there’s an opportunity to connect stronger to our own feelings and how we can meet our own personal needs. This process can be very internal as we should be doing things for ourselves, learning how to understand who we by being kind and compassionate. I invite you to talk to your version of divinity, the powers that be, the God of your understanding or knowiness. And ask what you can do for you, and how can you take better care of yourself?

Now that you have this info, the question is what can you do with it? Well here is some advice on how to survive a Mercury in Retrograde cycle.

First off always read over what you’re doing, and read it again and don’t sign any contracts unless it’s something you have to do, or make any new commitments again unless it’s something you have to do right away.

If you decide to do business during this cycle, make sure to ask for a second opinion, and be aware of the details for the next three to five weeks, because you should think about the more wonky time of Mercury’s Retrograde phase, which is the after Shadow time for 2 weeks after its Retrograde cycle, as things are slowly getting back to normal, it can be intense for some. Make sure to check in with your own intuition or higher-self, and stay open-minded as much as possible when making decisions. If you have any resources with someone else, like in a relationship or financially, this is a good time to go over the details.

Negotiations can go well if you make minor adjustments, but no permanent commitments during this cycle. Going over details can benefit you, do anything it takes to keep from overlooking important details or miscommunication. I have seen first hand how Mercury in Rx cycles can cause misunderstandings, as we can get easily frustrated with each other without any real rhyme or reason, it might just not make sense! Also, make sure your tolerant to being asked questions over and over, but be open to the fact that our perception has dipped down into a lower vibrational energy that causes real issues for all of us, and that it may never make sense.

This is a great time to re-evaluate and re-organize your life, work on our thought patterns and how you make decisions. You can walk away from this cycle learning a very valuable tool what works for you and what doesn’t in a deeper way. This cycle provides time for us to do-over anything we want, you can retrace your steps and make things better now. Remember planets go Retrograde all the time, you have lived through many Mercury in Retrograde cycles before and more than likely you will get through this one as well. Mercury also rules our minds and our day-to-day decisions, so when it comes to communication make sure that you pay attention, read over anything again and if you don’t understand, and ask if you head things right the first time, and also use spell check because you’re going to need it!

Often during a Mercury in Rx friends from the past, family members, and clients will pop back in our lives! Again this can be a good thing, this doesn’t need to be negative. But it does not necessarily mean if a lover or even a friend from the past shows up that is is meant to be or fated to be together forever, it simply means there is unfinished business or something you need to pay attention to heal, there is always a lesson in Mercury’s madness.

It’s my wish for you to be educated more so on the benefits of this transit versus the negativity that Retrograde planets get, and I am not above it to be honest, as many Mercury in Retrograde cycles have hit me very hard, and if you know me you know how much I can dislike this time. But we are in this together, so perhaps together you can walk away using some of this advice and make the most out of this energy. When planets go Retrograde (Rx), the cosmos is giving us a second chance at something and even a third, because it allows you to retrace your steps three times, that’s how they work! So we get to go back and do things over, before moving forward again. Sometimes this is a huge blessing, as they say the second time around can be the best and even a third under this influence.
