February Full Moon – Feb 19th
This month’s Full Moon is a special Super Moon, which is when the Moon is closer to the Earth, so the Moon will look brighter, larger, and closer than an average Full Moon, and this will be the largest Super Full Moon of 2019.
This Full Moon is also accompanying a bright Star called Regulus in the constellation Leo the Lion. You can expect the sky to be pretty bright for a few nights.
This Full Moon has a few different ancient names actually. A very long time ago different cultures and people gave the Moons names by month and the changing seasons. During that time they followed the Lunar Month instead of the Solar Year.
February’s Full Moon is often called the Snow Moon and it has been known also as the Hunger Moon, the Storm Moon, and the Chaste Moon.
The Full Moon on the 19th occurs in the detailed sign of Virgo in the first degree, this can bring more awareness around the things that need more order in our lives. Something usually becomes exposed or is illuminated, which helps us get in touch with the things that we may have been neglecting or putting off, especially regarding our work, habits, services, health, and routines. We may receive some strong intuitive signs or messages from the Universe, and our feelings may come from a place of being frustrated or stuck.
During this particular Full Moon is the perfect time to work on manifestation. It also tends to give us the courage to speak up and say goodbye to negative situations and people who have been bringing us down. This Full Moon is a time to reevaluate and finally figure out what’s no longer working or is needed in our lives. It’s a time to release something, or someone perhaps. It’s when we let go and cleanse the space we’re in. This Full Moon being in the sign of Virgo, just magnifies its effects.
The Full Snow Moon will occur on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 is in the sign of Virgo. Although our adrenaline is pumping during this time, the energy will eventually fade, but you in the meanwhile, can get new projects off the ground and once the energy has dropped you can maintain your motivation and not worry so much about initiating something.
The interesting part of this February Full Moon is how it is connecting with the other planets in the Cosmos. And the Full Moon in Virgo is making a rather nice “Trine” connection to Mars in Taurus and is close to electric thought provoking Uranus at the end of the sign of fiery Aries. This makes for a highly charged up Full Moon folks, and since the Full Moon already is an emotional time, we must be careful not to allow this energy to overwhelm us, as we can be more anxious and worried than usual during this time.
Mars recent move into the sign of Taurus is also connecting to this Full Moon. Looking at how the Zodiac Sign of Taurus acts when it’s angry or passionate about something (Mars Traits) helps us fully understand how it will affect us during this Full Moon. Occasionally, we could get angry and easily irritated. Some folks will reach a boiling point about a particular issue that may have been more easily handled before or at least tolerated. So our patience is wearing thin and some of us might need to take decisive action.
There’s a strong urge or desire to break free from anything that is restricting or limiting us, with Mars conjunct Uranus during this Full Moon. Even when it’s not an erratic Full Moon this connection is unpredictable and can be volatile, so watch out for others who get too pumped up and tend to lose their tempers!
Luckily, there are other Planetary connections being made to the Sun and Moon during this time that help keep our impulsive behavior more under control and that lowers the chances of upsetting events!
Often there comes a time when we need to take certain actions and be more proactive, especially in areas of our lives where we have held back or gotten lazy. With the outer-planet Uranus involved, there is a theme of destiny at work during this Full Moon, and it can put us under pressure to make some important changes.
During the Full Moon, you will be able to look at your life and quickly size up what is possible and more manageable, because you are more realistic about your schedule and limitations with it being in the sign of Virgo. There can be a reality check around what you are overdoing in certain areas of your life. But mental Mercury is, fortunately, helping us with insight to work on a more doable plan for the future. Plus our negotiating skills in most situations are on point, and that may give us a little more time. Mercury right now is in the sign of Pisces and with the Full Moon in Virgo negotiations are more possible.
The Full Moon in Virgo can bring more exciting opportunities that help you feel more alive and expressive. Whatever might have been confused or depressed in your life might just seem to come together and make sense during this cycle. It can allow you to have more restored faith in your current path and give you more confidence to attain your longer-term goals for the future.
With all these powerful influences at play it’s a great time to learn how to do Full Moon energy work, and for setting some intentions, as we should be working on letting go of what no longer works for us or is blocking our path to something better during the Full Moon
