The NEW MOON occurs on Friday, December 7th, 2018, at 2:22 AM EST.
Early in the wee hours of the morning, the Moon in the sign of Sagittarius aligns with the Sun also in Sagittarius, and a NEW MOON occurs! This is an extremely powerful energy, that begs us to look at our future goals and plans, and to manifest what we truly want and desire. This is a time for fresh starts and new beginnings!
The New Moon is in the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius and this represents NEW BEGINNINGS. This is a time to focus on this sign and its traits, so we need to work on feeling being more optimistic, enthusiastic, adventurous, honest, outspoken, and independent! Think about how you can incorporate these qualities into your life!
With this New Moon wrapped in the sign of the Archer, Sagittarius, we should focus on reaching for goals that help increase our understanding and awareness, this is a courageous energy and we are being asked to think about how to expand our horizons, and gain some sort of confidence and even optimism from a broader perspective. It’s all too easy to get lost in the details of your everyday lives, but with this potent Sagittarius energy, we can also find small ways to move forward in our lives and also work at nurturing our faith, hope, and visions.
The Lesson of the New Moon
Something to watch out for is since we are getting a double dose of Sagittarian energy, with the Sun and Moon both being in this fiery sign, is we tend to think in a big way, so there’s a tendency to overdo our expectations through our actions. And with the New Moon involved in a tense connection to aggressive Mars and foggy Neptune, we need to check ourselves and not go over the top or become attached to doing something impractical. This is a creative time, but you may not be keeping it real, and illusions are all over the place! We are making headway even though we may not feel like it right now, as rewards will come from our bravery, and even as little or big as they may be, in about two weeks time after the Full Moon occurs will understand this more.
