Mars in Aquarius

Today Sept. 10 Mars enters the sign of Aquarius where it will remain through November 15th.

Mars oh Mars, that little hot “Red Planet” has been stirring up our aggressions and passions for a while now, but finally, it is out of its Retrograde cycle and is ready to rumble once again. Mars is moving forward now and has entered the fiery revolutionary air sign, Aquarius. So if you’ve been feeling depleted of determination or motivation, expect your energy to return soon. Mars, named after the Roman God of War, rules over motivation, energy, and passion. It inspires supercharged and explosive actions, which can lead to either great accomplishments or utter destruction.

Our freedom is of the utmost importance under Mars in Aquarius, especially involving our friendships and partnerships. Even if we are in something committed we tend to want to do “our own thing”, no matter what, be it personal or in business. During this cycle, we can experience amazingly dynamic energy levels, but it can feel erratic at times! We are chasing down our goals now “full throttle” as this energy pushes us to do so, so we may achieve our goals through hit and miss actions. We can feel much more assertive and be more original, intelligent, unorthodox, independent, resourceful, inspired, and organized in some ways.

Aquarius is a fixed air sign, and its energies have us feeling more determined, stubborn, thoughtful, social, and full of ideas. This energy has us feeling more caring towards the group or community as a whole, so if you feel more motivated by teamwork and a shared cause that is completely normal under this influcence. The progressive qualities of Aquarius also inspire the wellbeing of society as a whole, especially with those who are being treated unfairly. Your inner revolutionary is about to wake up folks, and you may get excitied about introducing new ideas to others, as well as challenging some folks past assumptions about other people.

Occasionally, our moods may shift and change, and we can get quite stubborn and eccentric, and a bit air-headed or zany! If we get frustrated or angered under Mars in Aquarius we tend to be more to ourselves, as we do not like confrontation unless we slip and lose control, than Watch Out, we can be very direct and matter of fact, shoving reality in other folks faces! But we tend to be more verbal about it than physical. Also, if we are not happy with someone we can be quite passive-aggressive at times, and take some nasty shots.

Much of the energy we feel under this influence will go into being more socially active, especially if something is considered to be humanitarian, so joining forces with like-minded folks who are with a special cause or group is very satisfying to join up with as we don’t mind taking on the establishment if necessary. This influence does help us to think of the team again and be more cooperative and less concerned with personal power for now. We can be quite attracted to what is considered different, unconventional, and offbeat, and we tend to approach problems from a more intellectual detached perspective.

Sex takes on a whole new meaning while Mars is in Aquarius. Mars plays multiple roles. He’s associated with the body, physical vitality, lust, conquest, and how you get what you want, but especially since Mars rules over sexual activity we will experiment and play the field before committing ourselves to one partner during this time, it’s a time for independence in love and relationships usually, and lovemaking is more spontaneous, as we have a need for constant change.

With this Mars energy being in the most eccentric, non-conformist sign of the Zodiac, you may feel more like asserting your individuality and embrace your weird quirks. You get an opportunity to express yourself in rare form without fear of judgment from others.

Anything that might have seemed stuck or impossible while Mars was in Retrograde is going to move forward once again now, especially concerning our love lives and whatever makes us feel truly passionate.
